LORTON, VA – Chenega Federal Systems (CFS) is proud to announce receiving a Certificate of Registration to the revised ISO 9001:2008 Standard from Intertek, its ISO 9001 Registrar.
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) located in Geneva, Switzerland, sets universal standards for a range of activities, from agriculture and manufacturing, to management and customer service practices.
The organization awards its accreditation based on stringent guidelines for quality, operations, safety, and service.
Chenega Federal Systems’ pursuit of the ISO 9001: 2008 Certification reaffirms its dedication to superior product quality, process improvement and customer satisfaction. CFS has trained internal auditors to standardize and maintain the Quality Management System in accordance with the ISO 9001:2008 requirements.
The updated standard ISO 9001: 2008 contains no additional requirements compared to the 2000 standard however some requirements have been clarified.
Changes to the 2008 standard are limited to:
- improvement of the clarity and objectiveness of the requirements
- better alignment with ISO 14001:2004
- changes to wording and adding notes (not new or additional requirements but explanatory text: how better to understand the requirements)
